Hi all, it’s been busy this last month with all kinds of things going on. It never seems to stop. We have been working on new flyers for the Porter Show and we got that done. I will put a copy of the flyer in this newsletter (in black and white). We are going to discuss some changes to this year’s Show to try and fill the afternoon, so be sure and come to the next meeting to voice your opinion. We are looking at a bonfire on Friday night and to do something like hamburgers and hot dogs at a small cost. Then somehow do a pancake breakfast on Saturday, move the dinner to an afternoon BBQ and have an ice-cream social after the raffle, just to change it up. Maybe you have an idea bring it to the next meeting.
We now have a new tri-fold brochure about the Club to help promote the Club to see if we can get new members, something to hand out at all the events we go to. The new Club coffee cups are here in blue and burgundy, I think they are nice. You should all get one or two or three or four or five etc.… I know one Club member got 8 so maybe you need 10 only you know for sure. I have them here at my office so let me know if you NEED some. The cost is $8.00/ea. Also, will have some at the logging show in Anderson and at the next meeting. The next Club event is the Logging Show in Anderson Feb 7th - Feb 9th we will be set up in the covered shed like before. Move in Date is Feb 6th. If you have not been it is well worth the trip to Anderson just to see. Come by our display, buy a coffee cup and get some flyers to hand out. I’m going to put a list of events in this newsletter and I will update it as the months go by so if there is an event that is not on the list please get it to me. The Club now has a web site that you can use to get information from and to us. The web site is www.nccaths.com feel free to go to it and check it out. We have also started a Facebook page @NCC.ATHS please visit our page and like it, if you have something to add please do so as if we keep it fresh and help it stay active. The more active the Facebook page is, the more likely we are to attract new members to our club. If we cannot continue to grow our membership, our club will eventually die. And no one wants that! We have started 2 new Club chair position that will help us to move things forward. We now have Tonya Porter as newsletter editor, she will get the newsletter out on time and make all decisions on what goes in it. Sheila Skemp is now our Publicist and she will oversee promoting the Club. She is doing the Facebook page and web site. As well as keeping up with and designing flyers and thinks like that. She will also give the Club a report at the meetings on what she is working on and some fresh ideas as we move forward. Our Facebook page is currently up to 88 followers! Help us reach 100 by inviting your Facebook friends to like the page. I talked to Tracy Shane Pres. of the Sierra-Nevada Chapter. Tracy said he saw in the last newsletter that we wanted a booth at the National Show and didn’t want to pay the fee to get one. He said we can get one for free if we call National, we can make it happen. So, with a few phone calls and some emails back and forth we now are going to have a booth at the National Show. So, we are going to need people to man the booth if you are going let me know if you would like to do a shift. If you are thinking of going and want a room of taking a truck the form is in your Wheels of Time Magazine. I filled mine out last night I think it was a little confusing so if you need help come to the meeting or call me. The National show is May 31st – June 2nd. They are thinking that there will be over 900 trucks there and lots of other things to see so as I’ve said it before you should go and see this. This could be as close as it gets to the North State for a long time. I have heard folks talk about how it was in Reno back in 2001 and still how exciting it was. So, if you can make a trip to Reno that weekend to see it you will not be sorry. We had a great turn out at the last meeting. It was nice to see so many members there. We hope that we can have even more members at the next meeting. Remember this club is for us, so show up and enjoy our company. We love to hear your input about the club and how we should do things. Thanks See you all at the next meeting NEXT MEETING Feb 16th @ M&M’s IN RED BLUFF DINNER @ 5 PM MEETING TO FOLLOW AT 6 PM PS. She will be more than happy to help you get everything taken care of. No More Room(s) We are amazed at the number of rooms booked for this year's show! Due to this overwhelming response the Grand Sierra Resort is out of rooms in our block. We have over 1,000 rooms booked for Friday night! We are working on an overflow hotel and will let you know this week what that will be. We apologize to anyone who has not been able to get a room at GSR but we never thought we would have this type of response. We are looking forward to a great show! Movin’ on! Last year’s ATHS Convention registration expert – and current Membership Specialist, Jourdan Williams, this week announced she is moving on to bigger things and a better opportunity. And we wish her well. Jourdan's last day in the office will be Friday, February 22nd. But being the awesome person she is, she will be back on evenings and weekends to help out our wonderful members until we get someone in to take over. Most readers will already be aware that Cheryl Kober, our Advertising and Marketing Manager, also is no longer with ATHS. We wish them both well in their future endeavors.
